Why another IT Consulting Firm?

While it certainly seems as though the field is inundated, we believe that it is not necessarily inundated with affordable talent.  There appear to be four major categories of IT consultants.

• Major Corporate Firms – While talent levels vary greatly even here, these firms aim solely for the business of large corporations and government organizations.
• Offshore Consultants – These are generally inexpensive, but are unable to offer on-site service, and talent levels vary greatly.
• Large Residential/Small Business IT Firms – These often have a humorous name and drive very recognizable cars, but are usually full of under-paid technicians just start starting out in the field.
• Small Consulting Shops – One person or small teams aimed at small business and residential IT needs.

Unshackle New York fits into the final group, but, we believe, excels beyond the vast majority of its members.  While there are certainly some small shops that exist who have a great deal of experience, knowledge, and talent, our experiences show that those are few and far between.  Much of the field consists of people who know just enough to convince their clients to pay their usually outrageous consulting fees.
